“filmalized”

In 2020, I came across this album. A collection of seemingly random pictures ranging from a train station at night to the silhouette of a girl holding flowers, it made me fall in love with capturing a specific moment or feeling in time. They reminded me of a night that you don’t want to end or a friendship that you really cherish.

By most typical photography quality standards, my photos would not make the cut. I don’t follow the Rule of Thirds and there’s probably too much grain and noise, but my goal is to evoke some sort of thought or emotion with them.

As for the name—I think a lot of modern film photography is also centered around capturing simple but impactful moments. There’s something cool and slightly satisfying about making digital photos seem as if they were taken by a 35mm.
